Fareham Borough Council undertake licensing of hackney carriages and private hire vehicles, drivers and operators within the Borough.
A Private Hire & Hackney Carriage Licensing Policy is crucial for ensuring public safety, accessibility, and compliance with statutory requirements.
The Council are proposing some changes to the policy which are outlined below:
- The number of knowledge test attempts for applicants, reduced from three attempts to two attempts.
- The period an applicant must have held a full UK driving license, increased from two to four years.
- The Letter of Good Conduct, to no longer consider criminal record checks for ages under 18.
