There are currently around 4,200 affordable homes in Fareham, of which Fareham Borough Council manages nearly 60%. We need feedback and engagement from our tenants to ensure we are able to continue delivering high quality services, while adhering to the changes in housing regulations and the new consumer standards.
The Council’s Draft Tenant Engagement Strategy sets out its approach to improving how it listens to and works with its tenants. It contains key objectives and continuous improvement plans, which will continue developing over time to ensure it reflects the views of Fareham Housing tenants.

We did
The new Tenant Engagement Strategy was reviewed and adopted at an Executive meeting on 3 September
You can review the decision report to the Executive here.
After analysing the results of the public consultation, based on feedback the following changes were made to the document before it was submitted for adoption to ensure clarity and consistancy:
- The terminology 'RAG' was replaced with 'traffic light system' to provide clarity and understanding to tenants.
- The images on pages 5 and 6 of the strategy document have been replaced to relate to engagement activities to provide a clear message.
The adoption of the new Tenant Engagement Strategy is the start of the engagement journey and we intend to work on this with tenants throughout the year and review it annually.
