We are asking
The Council has created a Draft Mutual Exchange Policy which is linked alongside some mutual exchange FAQs.
Under the Housing Act 1985, eligible tenants of social housing have the right to exchange their home with another eligible tenant. This is referred to as a ‘mutual exchange'.
The Mutual Exchange Policy provides comprehensive information regarding the process and the supporting legislation for tenants interested in exchanging their homes.
We would like Council Housing Tenants to take part in the survey linked below to have their say on the policy to ensure the mutual exchange process is clear and easy to understand.
Have your say until Monday 16 September

Feedback from the public consultation was considered, and a suggestion was made to adapt the Mutual Exchange process flow chart featured in the policy to make it easier to read and understand. The flow chart was amended; colour coding was added and the number of boxes within the flow chart were reduced.
