What we are proposing
What is the Council proposing?
The Council is preparing to submit a planning application to install ground level lights on the runway at Solent Airport. This will help aircraft land safely in the dark or during periods of poor visibility e.g. during bad weather.
You can read about the scheme in more detail by clicking on the links above.
What we are asking?
We want to hear what local residents think of our proposal and how it may affect you.
How your comments will be used
We are running this pre-application consultation as your feedback can help inform the final scheme design. There will be another round of consultation when the planning application is submitted later this year.
You Said
Following the consultation regarding the installation of Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) at Solent Airport, an Exhibition and CAT Meeting was held at Fareham Innovation Centre on 6 September 2022. The exhibition looked at the illustrious history of Daedalus, the significant changes which have taken place in recent years, as well as the Council's ambitions plans for the future. This was followed by a CAT Meeting which gave the public an opportunity to learn more about Daedalus and have their questions responded to.
Further information including links to the PDF version of the exhibition banners, recorded version of the Presentation and Q&A on our YouTube Channel can be found in the 'Special CAT information' link above.
