The Council are consulting on a draft Tenancy Strategy, which sets out the Council’s approach to managing tenancies and supporting households across the Borough.
Under the Localism Act 2013, all local authorities must publish a Tenancy Strategy outlining key principles for registered providers of social housing. Fareham’s draft strategy focuses on four priorities:
- Offering secure (lifetime) tenancies as the preferred option
- Making the most effective use of affordable and social housing
- Minimising and preventing homelessness
- Providing support to help households sustain their tenancy
The Council is seeking feedback to ensure the strategy is clear, accessible, and meets the needs of tenants and providers. The consultation is open from 20 January to 30 March. Residents are invited to share feedback on the strategy document by completing a short survey in the link provided.
