We are asking
Fareham's Draft Air Quality Strategy 2025-2030 sets out the Councils objectives for influencing a reduction in air pollution across the Borough.
The Strategy has been developed in replace of the Air Quality Action Plan, which was published in 2008, following the revocation of two air quality management areas:
- Gosport Road, Fareham
- Portland Street, Fareham
The air quality has now improved in these areas to levels as set out by the Department for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
We would like your feedback to understand how effective you think our proposed strategy is, and if there are any further actions that can be taken to improve air quality in Fareham.
Take part by completing the linked survey by 8 August 2025.
What can you Influence?
The contents, layout and explanation in the draft Air Quality Strategy.
What can't you Influence?
There are a number of issues that that the Council do not have direct control over including:
- Highways
- Public Transport
- Schools
- National Legislation
- Pollution from areas outside the boundary of the Borough.
When a concern is identified with any of the above, the Council will work with the relevant organisations to request assistance on specific issues.
